Management Moves: Good Grief

Share post:

Good Grief is a nonprofit organization that encourages resilience and the reinforcement of healthy coping skills in children, families, schools, and communities that have experienced the hardships of loss.

According to a March press release, the group, which has locations in both Morristown and Princeton, will carry on its mission of support and education by promoting members of its board members and welcoming a new addition to the team.

What began in 2004 as an informational initiative grew in just three years to be able to provide direct services before Good Grief expanded its programming from Morristown to include Princeton, where they still have two locations: 38 Elm Street in Morristown and 5 Mapleton Road in Princeton. As per Good Grief’s website, good-grief.org, the organization serves an estimated “900 children each month” and “more than 160 communities across the state.”

Guy Langford has been appointed to the role of board chair, which succeeds his work as vice chair, a position he has held since 2020. The Princeton resident works for Deloitte as a partner in M&A Transaction Services and will take over for Mark Durham, a managing partner at Strawn Arnold & Associates, who will become Good Grief’s new executive director.

“On behalf of the entire Good Grief Board, staff and our dedicated volunteers, I’d like to thank Mark for his tireless work as our Chair these last 2 years,” Langford says in a quote. “I’m looking forward to working with Mark in his new role as Executive Director as we continue to deliver nights of support and look for new ways to deliver Good Grief services to kids, families, communities and schools in need.”

“We are fortunate to have Guy Langford serve as our board chair, with his visionary leadership, we are poised to strengthen our Nights of Support and expand our service offerings to help even more kids and families, not just with grief, but also learning resiliency strategies, in New Jersey and beyond,” Durham adds.

Paul Rosica, a former managing director and head of corporate sales and structuring at BMO Capital Markets in New York for over a decade, has also joined the board of directors.

Other changes of note are the promotions of Jody M. Stowe, PharmD, to vice chair and Jean Frydman, Esq., to secretary, while Andrew Dinnhaupt, a board member since 2019, will continue in his role as treasurer.
