Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County, a Hamilton-based nonprofit focused on improving quality of life for the homebound elderly and disabled adults, has announced that Linda Gyimoty has stepped down as executive director after six years in the role.
A statement from the ICGMC board noted that Gyimoty, whose last day was April 14, has accepted a position with AmeriCorps, a federal agency. “I am so proud to bring the lessons learned through my work…to strengthen these larger volunteer mobilization programs,” Gyimoty said in a statement.
While a search committee works to find a permanent replacement, the board has appoint two interim executive directors who will temporarily share responsibility for leading the agency.
Dr. Carla Winters, a current employee, will fill one interim role, and Janet Zito, CPA, a former employee, will fill the other. Zito previously served as finance Manager and will oversee finance and general administration. Winters will retain her current responsibilities for grant writing and management and will assume oversight of the agency’s programs.
