Boomers and Beyond members have discovered the “Fountain of Youth” at TEAM85 Fitness and Wellness — it’s exercise! While reversing their age, these members are having fun, making friends, and getting fit.

Small group fitness classes are offered as part of TEAM85’s Forever Fit program, which encourages members to stay healthy at any age by bringing adults ages 55 and over to explore their health with confidence. Classes are appropriate for all levels of physical condition or experience and take place at TEAM85’s state-of-the-art, all-in-one facility conveniently located in Bordentown.

“We offer a variety of classes including cardio, strength, balance (to prevent falls) and aqua classes, but more important, we offer a comfortable and safe environment conducive to making connections and feeling better,” says Laurel Reid, director of the Forever Fit – Boomers and Beyond program. “We take the intimidation factor away and make you feel like family.”

This program has helped individuals with many different health issues such a cardiovascular disease, joint replacement, arthritis, and Parkinson’s disease as well as the typical aches and pains of the older adult.

Reid, herself a “boomer,” has more than 43 years of experience helping people ease into fitness. She, along with the rest of the staff, make a new member feel comfortable and part of the TEAM85 family. “We call it our happy place,” she says.

Along with the variety of exercise classes suitable to anyone new to fitness, they also offer social and educational opportunities, another key to staying healthy and mentally sharp in later years. The Boomers and Beyond program hosts a “Coffee Talk” the last Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m., which is also open to non-members. The “Coffee Talks” provide education and well as complimentary screenings pertaining to this age group. Just recently Capital Health presented Nutrition and Aging. Reid also has introduced indoor Pickleball — a paddle sport that combines badminton, tennis, and table tennis — to TEAM85 members and non-members.

To experience something special and to discover your “Fountain of Youth,” stop in at TEAM85 for a tour, or call Laurel Reid at 609-298-8585. She is waiting to help you start your own journey to health and happiness.
