Volunteer

The Hopewell Valley YMCA is always looking for caring, dedicated and motivated community members to help create a positive impact within the Hopewell Valley. For more information, visit www.hvymca.org.

The Old Barracks is looking for volunteers to help out during Patriots Week, December 26 to 31. Volunteers are needed for all days, especially Saturday, December 29, to help welcome visitors and direct them to events happening in downtown Trenton. Many positions require volunteers to stand outside. Bagels and lunch provided. To volunteer, send an email to lronaghan@barracks.org with your skills and availability.

The Sourland Conservancy relies on volunteers to protect, promote and preserve the Sourland Mountain region. The organization is also looking for members of its Sourland Stewards project, which includes nature hikes, programs on stewardship topics, print and online media, resources, brochures, and more. Call for Plays

The Lawrence Library is accepting play submissions for its annual PlayFest on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Plays should be ten minutes in length, with a maximum of five actors. Playwrights should be of high school age or older and reside or work in the Delaware Valley. Submissions are limited to a maximum of two per playwright. Playwrights, amateur or professional, should submit their plays by Friday, December 21.

Scripts can be emailed as a Word document attachment to akerr@mcl.org or may be brought to the Lawrence Library reference desk. Please include two title pages: one with the play title only and the other with play title and name, address, phone, and email address of the playwright. The playwright’s name should not appear in the script. For additional information, call Ann Kerr at 609-883-8294.

Call for Nominations

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Association for Corporate Growth New Jersey Corporate Growth Awards. Those interested can nominate small to mid-sized New Jersey-based companies that have exemplified sustained innovation, excellence, and corporate growth. You can nominate your own company, a client, customer, or business colleague. Deadline for all nominations is Friday, January 18, 2019.
