A Taste of the Food Business

From microbreweries to large chain restaurants, the food industry is an important part of New Jersey’s economy and one with room to grow.

“FoodBizNJ: Setting the Table for Growth,” a conference hosted by NJBiz magazine, will bring together experts from the food industry for a series of panel discussions as well as tastings from food and beverage entrepreneurs on Tuesday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palace at Somerset Park. Panel discussions will include: “Workforce Development,” moderated by Lou Cooperhouse, executive director of the Rutgers Food Innovation Center; “The Ins and Outs of Financing Growth in the Food Industry”; “Family & Food: How family-run businesses can thrive,” moderated by Howard Dorman of the consulting firm Mazars USA; “Beer, Wine & Spirits — Legislative update,” moderated by Marshall Kizner of the law firm Stark & Stark; and “Your Brand: Packaging, Protecting and Marketing,” moderated by John Parkinson of NJBiz.
