Princeton University has announced that it intends to add 125 undergraduates per year over the next four years and build a seventh residential college, for a total of 500 new students on its campus. Currently, 5,200 undergraduate students are enrolled.
The expansion, announced this month as part of a strategic planning framework, fits in with the university’s 10-year plan for campus expansion that calls for development of the main campus and its immediate surroundings.
The strategic plan singled out Alexander Street as an opportunity to develop a “mixed-use and higher density corridor with administrative, commercial, and residential uses” near the Dinky station.
For the Ivy Lane and Western Way neighborhoods, the plan calls for academic and campus life uses.
