Tobias Design opened its doors in Hopewell in 2005 but has been designing for more than a decade. Lisa describes Hopewell as a small town that has not succumbed to the homogenization trend. “There is still something very home-grown about it. It has become a design mecca.” Within Hopewell there is a light gallery, art galleries, antique dealers, furniture places, a tile store, builders and architects, and a myriad of artisans. It is convenient for walking around and getting ideas for remodeling projects.
Lisa particularly enjoys period homes and has had the privilege of restoring many historic farm houses built circa 1600s-1800s. “I’ve had the challenge to create something that is usable by today’s standards but speaks to the architectural age of the home.” They are always fun projects.
