McCarter Theater Center’s Saturday, May 17, Gala Benefit brought together more than 500 area supporters to help the two-time Tony Award-winning regional theater company and performing arts venue reach its end-of-year financial goals and ensure the ongoing vitality of this important cultural, educational, and community organization.

Gala co-chairs Timothy M. Andrews, Judith Scheide, and Tamera Matteo choreographed the “black tie admired but not required” event where formal wear and occasional dramatic gowns added flair and music by the renowned a capella group Straight No Chaser. Joss and Jules Boutique Catering and Event Design shaped the evening, which included a live and silent auction.

In addition to supporting the creative vision of artistic director Emily Mann and world-class performances coordinated by special programming director Bill Lockwood, the gala makes an investment in the future by providing education outreach for 20,000 students annually — something to be applauded.
