Berlitz Takes A Starbucks Cue

What better way to learn a foreign language then to converse in an informal setting with other speakers of that language? Berlitz, the international language instruction company headquartered on Roszel Road, has opened just such a center at its recently relocated learning center at 264 Nassau Street.

According to a company press release, “instead of a traditional classroom setting, the new Berlitz Learning Center concept offers students a comfortable, inviting environment — similar to upscale, coffee shops.” The company will host a free open house at the new location on Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Those attending will receive a complimentary, Berlitz 20-minute “power session,” to learn French or Spanish using the Berlitz method. There will also be a raffle for one free year of CyberTeachers, the one-on-one online business language learning program. Berlitz is also offering a $100 savings to those who enroll in a Berlitz language or cultural-based course by Sunday, November 16.

“Berlitz has been passionate about providing its students with personalized, high-caliber language learning and cultural competencies for more than 135 years,” said Alexandra Morales, district manager, Berlitz. “The Berlitz Princeton Learning Center will provide a more enjoyable experience, in a setting that is like learning in your living room. In today’s increasingly global society, the ability to communicate effectively across cultures has never been more important.”

According to a company press release, the new learning center is set in a 100-plus-year-old house that has been renovated “to offer a place to gather, spend time and feel at home with fellow students, colleagues, and instructors. Each room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, providing instruction on multiple platforms.”

The Berlitz learning center had previously been located at 31D Hulfish Street. Berlitz, a Benesse Company, has more than 550 locations in over 70 countries and 40 million clients worldwide.
