Maurice Iovine is living the American Dream. In 1984 he moved here from Naples, Italy, with the dream of making a couple of thousand dollars to help his family of 8 brothers and 4 sisters, then move back home to Monte Di Procida, Italy, to open his own restaurant. Instead, he fell in love with New Jersey and this area and decided to stay.

Nine months ago Maurice, owner and chef of Vera Pizza, fulfilled his lifelong dream by purchasing the pizza parlor by the Shop Rite in the Montgomery Shopping Center. Maurice brings 30 years of experience working in pizza parlors to create his amazing food. As the chef, he uses only the best and the freshest ingredients. As the owner, he makes everyone happy just by talking to them. People come to his restaurant just to see him and to laugh.

Vera Pizza is the perfect restaurant to bring your family, sports team, or someone special. Within six month, Maurice hopes to renovate the interior to make it cozy, and “feel like a little pizzeria Italiano.”

For now, it is all about the food. In addition to a wide variety of pizzas, including gourmet pizzas, Vera Pizza is famous for their Penne a la Vodka, made with their homemade sauce and a mouth-watering Chicken Francese over fresh spinach.

Vera Pizza’s menu offers a wide selection of items, with something for everyone. Everything is made to order. The same great food you enjoy at Vera Pizza, is also available for take-out and catering. No job is too big or too small for them. Everything is delicious.

For Maurice, the best part is getting to know his customers and making them laugh. “I was born for this kind of business. This is the thing I love to do the most. I talk to my customers. I cook for them. I make them smile I’ve been doing this for almost 30 years.”

Visit Vera Pizza in the Montgomery Shopping Center for a little taste of Italy. You will leave smiling and happier than when you arrived.
