First Bank, based on Kuser Road in Hamilton, has raised $20 million in a public offering at $6 a share. The bank was listed on November 15 on the NASDAQ Global Market as FRBA. The stock price has hovered around $6.
First Bank opened a new Somerset branch in September and announced the pending acquisition of Heritage Community Bank of Randolph, and its three Morris County branches. First Bank has branches in Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence, Somerset, and Williamstown and about $426 million in assets.

JK Group, a company that helps manage corporate philanthropy programs, says its clients have used its capabilities to donate a total of more than $2 million to relief agencies in the first 10 days after Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines.

Maurice T. Perilli, 95, on November 25. He was an executive vice president of Roma Bank and served as chairman of the board from 1991 to 2011, stepping down at the age of 92. He served as mayor of Hamilton from 1961 to 1978.
Peter B. Lewis, 80, on November 23. The chairman of Progressive Insurance Company, Lewis was a 1955 graduate of Princeton University who donated the money for the Lewis Library, the Lewis-Sigler Genomics Institute, and the Lewis Center for the Arts, now being expanded in the arts and transit neighborhood adjoining the Princeton Dinky railroad station.
