Princeton Girlchoir has appointed Hilary K. Butler as its new executive director, effective this month. Butler replaces Janet Perkins, who retired this year after 17 years as director.

Butler served most recently as the managing director of Bella Voce in Chicago. She has experience both as a high school music teacher and in management as a business intern with the Opera Theater of St. Louis and a campaign associate with the University of Chicago Medical Center. She holds a bachelor’s of music from Brigham Young University and an MBA in strategic management and finance from Indiana University.

“I am thrilled to be joining Princeton Girlchoir at this exciting time, as they reaffirm their commitment to growth and increased outreach in the greater Princeton area,” Butler said in a statement. She will begin work with the 280 choir members when their season begins on September 8.
