Risky Business, Minimized

Given the subject, you can understand why insurance agency Borden Perlman is going to some extra lengths to prepare for its presentation: “Risk Should Not Be A Four-Letter Word,” on Tuesday, June 14, at 8 a.m. at the Greenacres Country Club in Lawrenceville. Register at www.surveymonkey.com/s/J2NCW5T.

When registering for the event, attendees are asked to complete a 10-question survey on risk management available on the registration site. As evidenced by a sampling of the yes-or-no questions, proper information can be an important part of effective risk management. Questions include:

• Have you ever become a participant in a high-risk venture without fully understanding the risk?

• Do you have a business continuity plan in the event of an operations failure, such as loss of IT?

During the event, architect Robert Hillier of the Hillier Group and Jeff Milanaik of Heller Industrial Parks will each share a risk-reward success story, followed by a panel discussion with Jeff Perlman of Borden Perlman, Conrad Druker of the accounting firm Mercadien, and Ryan Marrone of the law firm Szaferman Lakind. The panel will discuss the results of the survey and ways to manage risk proactively and without impeding creativity.
