My Prize?

I thought,

I really did,

That at some point

The struggle would end —

Or at least get easier.

But as I peel away

Another layer of the onion

I find an even deeper hole,

An even darker room.

I am getting tired.

I want my prize,

Not another challenge.

I want to finally be in the light,

Not more darkness.
