The Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness is seeking volunteers during the upcoming tax season to staff its free tax preparation sites throughout Mercer County.

Training sessions take place on Friday, December 2, Friday, December 9, and Saturday, December 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the New United Way Conference Room, 3150 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. You will be required to pass a test on IRS Link & Learn to be certified to volunteer, and you must complete one of these training sessions to work as a volunteer.

Mercer Alliance volunteers are expected to work four to eight hours a week, helping low-income families and individuals file for refunds. Last tax season Mercer Alliance volunteers helped almost 1,200 Mercer families with free tax preparation.

For more information, and to sign-up for training, contact jrosado@merceralliance.org, or call 609-844-1008.
