Pharma giant Bristol-Myers Squibb just got bigger with the September 7 acquisition of pipeline partner ZymoGenetics for $885 million.

ZymoGenetics, a maker of a hepatitis C drugs, is based in Seattle. In 2009 BMS and ZymoGenetics entered a $1.1 billion partnership to co-develop the latter’s most promising hepatitis C drug, PEG-interferon lambda. Now that the drug has shown promise, BMS stated, it was time to buy the enterprise.

Husband-and-wife insurance team Eric and Diana Kollevoll have opened Kollevoll & Associates on Route 31 in Pennington.

Eric Kollevoll, a graduate of Hofstra, began his career with Liberty Mutual in 1989. In 1996 he founded his own company, Putnam Benefits & Insurance in New York. He sold Putnam in 2007 to move to Pennington and start a new company.

Pennington is the home of Diana Kollevoll, a 1986 Princeton University graduate who began her career at Chubb & Sons insurance company in White Plains, New York. She worked as a manager there until joining Putnam in 1999.

Kollevoll & Associates provides insurance services for businesses, schools, and professionals.

Boundbrook-based Source One Technical Solutions, an IT, scientific, technical, and engineering placement firm, has opened a second location on Franklin Corner Road. The company is run by Edie Foley, a 1979 graduate of Trinity University-Washington who began with Source One in 1996.

Lee Gallagher, 76, on September 18. He was the owner of Discount Auto and founder of Last Chance Recovery, both in Trenton.

Robert Nitti, 60, on September 17. He owned and operated Nitti’s Subaru (now Willis Express) in Hamilton Township for 38 years.

Bernard Hoffman, 77, on September 16. A dentist since 1962, he operated his practice in and around Pennington for 48 years.

Franklyn Van Houten, 96, on August 27. A professor at Princeton University for 30 years, he was considered the leading authority on New Jersey’s geology.
