West Windsor Community Farmers Market

Voted as New Jersey’s favorite farmers market and fourth in the nation in the only annual ranking of the top farmers markets in the nation by the public for nine of American Farmland Trust’s fourteen years of hosting their annual celebration, the West Windsor Community Farmers Market, now in its twentieth year, is an entirely community member-led 501c 3 organization and is mission driven in their support for New Jersey farms and small local food producers, connecting consumers to the folks who grow, raise and produce our food and create a welcoming community space and engender a healthy lifestyle.

Market Manager Chris Cirkus says, “Saturdays just aren’t complete without a visit to the West Windsor Community Farmers Market! Running weekly, rain and shine, from 9am-1pm, the Market offers just about everything you need for your weekly open-air grocery shopping and community fix. Live music, friends, and a positive vibe, all while supporting local producers, what’s not to like?”

This season, the Market is home to nineteen farms and twenty-nine non-farm vendors offering: seasonal Jersey Fresh produce (think Jersey Fresh corn, tomatoes, peaches, melons, peppers, zucchini and more), mushrooms, sustainably caught seafood, freshly milled oats, pickles, sauces, jams, fresh pasta, goats milk products, cheese, sourdough breads, baked goods, pastries, pastured poultry, meats and eggs, vegan savory and sweets, honey, Lebanese salads, Eastern European favorites, Indian simmer sauces and prepared meals, alpaca fiber wear, vegan chocolates, pesticide-free flowers, bone broths, as well as on-site food trucks featuring crepes, fresh pressed juices, hot and iced coffee and teas. A knife//lawn mower blade/chain sharpener is on site every other week and composting service is available weekly.

The WWCFM is asking supporters to cast their vote in the annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, presented by American Farmland Trust and Farmers Market Coalition. Simply aim your phone’s camera at the QR code in the Market’s ad in this issue or go to: markets.farmland.org and enter 08550 to vote and comment why you love the West Windsor Farmers Market!

The WWCFM accepts SNAP/EBT and offers an incentive towards fruit & vegetable purchases (up to $25 per market day). Four of the market’s produce farms accept WIC/FMNP/SFMNP.

High school students and local community members are encouraged to get involved and volunteer with the Market; please email manager@westwindsorfarmersmarket.org
