We fertilize the fields of foreign lands.

We eulogize with tears and folded hands.

We memorialize with solemn psalms of sorrow.

We grease the guns,

Beget more sons,

We send them forth today to die tomorrow.

Robert G. McHugh graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1943, and Princeton University in 1950. He has been a central New Jersey resident for the last 80 years. He is a World War II and Korean War veteran.
