Remember the timelessness of summer as a child, playing, creating, and exploring? This is the experience we provide for campers today at Waldorf Summer Camp. Our Summer Camp is an engaging program for the head, heart, and hands for children ages 4 through 13.
This year, the program is led by Camp Director Amy Shor, a trained Waldorf teacher with 19 years’ experience, along with Assistant Camp Director Jacquelyn Berkowitz ’05, a certified early childhood teacher with a background in the performing and visual arts.
Consistent with the mission of WSP, our camp provides authentic non-commercial experiences. This enlivens children’s sense of wonder, creativity, collaboration, leadership, and the confidence to meet new challenges,l while strengthening a connection to nature in a safe, nurturing environment.
This year campers will participate in a different theme for each of the two scheduled sessions. In “Exploration: Listening to the Land!” (July 10 to 21) campers will explore and participate in new challenges on our 22-acre campus of fields, forests, and creek, while engaging with the magic of nature through the arts, athletics, games, stories, and play.
Back by popular demand, “Garden to Table” (July 24 to August 4) will have campers tending our biodynamic garden, tasting, creating, and bettering the wider Princeton community with the fruits of their labors.
Each camp group (Tadpoles, Crayfish, Foxes, and Hawks) is tailored to the developmental needs of each age, and is conducted by trained and experienced Waldorf teachers who honor each child’s strengths through practical, imaginative, and nature-focused experiences. And true to the Waldorf philosophy, we’ll have fun outdoors, rain or shine!
