Having a loved one in a nursing home or long-term care facility is stressful. Seeing that loved one injured or become the victim of neglect, or worse, abuse is pain no family should endure. As part of a firm that has celebrated nearly 90 years of excellence, the experienced attorneys of Pellettieri Rabstein and Altman’s nursing home negligence and medical malpractice groups understand the difficult situation faced by patients who have suffered preventable, needless injuries at the hands of those who were supposed to care for them.

The firm’s sterling reputation in the field results from the successes of its team of the best practitioners.

Dr. Douglas S. Grossbart is a physician-attorney specializing in nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, and other complex personal injury matters. A 1988 summa cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University and a 1993 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, he completed his medical training internship in Pennsylvania before attending law school. He has successfully handled medical malpractice, nursing and hospital malpractice cases, including in multiple medical sub-specialties ranging from obstetrical and anesthesia malpractice, to surgical and radiology malpractice, malpractice involving delays in the diagnosis of cancer, as well as nursing home abuse and negligence matters. In addition, he has handled cases involving defective products, including defective medical devices.

“I believe my medical and legal background provides a significant benefit to the firm’s clients. It provides me unique insight when I take depositions or conduct cross examination, especially those of doctors, nurses and medical experts. My ability to work with medical experts on behalf of the firm’s clients, allows me to speak ‘the lingo’ which other attorneys simply do not.”

Dr. Grossbart’s credits include representing a young woman who suffered a leg amputation as a result of a combination of orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine and radiology malpractice which resulted in a jury verdict in excess of five million dollars.

Medical malpractice and medical negligence lawyers level the playing field between the client and the insurance companies defending the doctor. They gather the facts and medical records for review by medical experts who are able to determine what happened, what can be proven, and what was done.

Pellettieri Rabstein and Altman’s team investigates whether the care provided loved ones fell below the recognized and accepted standards of practice, defining mistakes that should never be made under the circumstances. The firm gets you the best possible results, through negotiation, and when necessary, litigation. If you want results, then be well represented.
