Gaping potholes and torn asphalt

desperate for repair,

road crews will be out in force in the coming months

in searing heat holding up little signs “slow” or “stop”

as drivers navigate orange cones.

Electronic detour signs inform drivers,

roads will be closed,

without a thought or care of inconvenience.

Trapped in rush hour traffic,

surrounded by detour signs from hell,

road rage takes over,

ah, welcome to New Jersey.
