Calls for Art

The West Windsor Arts Council (WWAC) invites artists to participate in their juried exhibition “Manifesting Beloved Community,” exploring the relationship of community health with race, racism, and efforts to create an antiracist society.

The deadline for art submission is Tuesday, December 13, with a fee of $5 per piece up to three pieces per artist. Exhibit dates will be from January 10 to March 4, 2023.

For more information regarding the exhibition and eligibility requirements, visit www.westwindsorarts.org or call 609-716-1931. WWAC is located at 952 Alexander Road in Princeton Junction.

Princeton University Concerts is accepting submissions for its 2022-’23 Audience Voices Contest — a new initiative designed to capture the impact of music, as perceived by PUC concertgoers. This year’s contest, limited to writing and drawing entries, takes inspiration from our new “Healing with Music” series by asking participants to submit a reflection on one of two prompts:

How has music served as a healing force in your life, or in the lives of those around you?How has your relationship with music changed since the start of the pandemic?

Entries need to be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023. They will be evaluated anonymously by a panel of judges from across the Princeton University campus and town community. Winners will receive a free subscription to the 2023-24 Concert Classics Series. For more information, visit concerts.princeton.edu/audience-voices.

Call for Donations

The Princeton Airport Santa Fly In event has been discontinued for safety reasons since 2020. However, Princeton Airport will continue to serve as a Gift Donation Center for the Mercer County Board of Social Services, as well as a Food Donation Center for the FoodBank Network of Somerset County. Unwrapped gifts and canned or boxed food will be accepted in the lobby of the Princeton Airport until Sunday, December 18, allowing county workers to arrange the best matches for the needy. The gifts can be deposited in the “chimneys” in the lobby of the airport between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Princeton Airport is located in Montgomery Township, 3.5 miles north of Princeton on Route 206 at 41 Airpark Road. For further information, call 609-921-3100 or visit princetonairport.com.
