Princeton alumni will return to campus in droves this Thursday through Sunday, May 28 to 31, for the university’s annual reunions weekends. The main events are the P-Rade march through the campus on Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m., and the fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to the festivities will be a number of Alumni-Faculty forums, panels consisting of alumni and moderated by university faculty and staff. Highlights include:
Friday, May 29: “The U.S. Approach to the Middle East,” 9 a.m., Frist Center room 302.
“Evolving Immigration Policy,” 10:30 a.m., Whig Hall senate chamber. Panelists include sociology professor Doug Massey and federal circuit court judge Denny Chin.
“What China Stands For in the New World Order,” 10:30 a.m., McCosh 50, with panelists including Anne-Marie Slaughter, former State Department official and dean of the Woodrow Wilson School.
“Scandals in Politics, Sports, and Big Business — Do They Matter Anymore?” 2:30 p.m., McDonnell Hall A02, with panelists including former ABC anchor Charles Gibson.
Saturday, May 30: “Federal Government — Is Dysfunction Endemic?” 9 a.m., McCosh 50, with Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media.
“Cultural Property and the Future of Museums,” 9 a.m., McCormick Hall 101, moderated by university art museum director James Steward.
“Changing Landscape in Africa,” 9 a.m., Whig Hall senate chamber, with Arlen Hastings of the Science Initiative Group at Institute for Advanced Study.
“Journalism in the Age of Smartphone,” 10:30 a.m., McCormick 101, with Paul Haaga, acting president and CEO of NPR.
