Trivia’s Roots
‘Trivia” was first given as the name of a casual parlor game in a column by Ed Goodgold and Dan Carlinsky in the Columbia Daily Spectator on February 5, 1965.
Their book, “Trivia,” based on the games they organized at Columbia, was published in 1966 and became a New York Times bestseller. They followed with “More Trivial Trivia.”
