Scholarships
The League of Women Voters of Lawrence is offering its Annual Youth Leadership Awards for 2026. The League of Women Voters is a state and national nonpartisan civic organization that works to register voters, provide voter education, and ensure that everyone is represented in the democratic process.
Awards will be made to college-bound applicants who demonstrate civic leadership in their communities.
The awards are intentionally broad to encourage applications from students engaged in non-traditional forms of civic action, including expanding voter participation, educating others about democratic government, or engaging community groups around current issues.
The LWVLT primarily serves Lawrence, Trenton, Ewing, and Hamilton, and high school seniors from those districts are encouraged to apply. Submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.
The minimum submission requirement is a one-page essay or a one-minute video describing the applicant’s civic project. Applications are available at lwvlt.org. Questions may be directed to YLAchair.lwvlt@gmail.com or 609-301-0401.

Plant Sale Preorders
Morven Museum & Garden has opened preorders for its annual plant sale. Orders must be placed by Monday, April 6.
Once a year, Morven’s horticulturalists, Master Gardeners Louise Senior and Peter Wagner, curate a diverse selection of unique and hard-to-find plants, including seedlings grown in Morven’s historic garden.
The sale includes flowers, vegetables, herbs, succulents, grasses, trees, shrubs, vines, and houseplants. Proceeds support Morven and help preserve and maintain the museum’s historic gardens.
Order pickup will take place Friday, May 15 through Monday, May 18. More information and ordering details are available on Morven’s website. Because many varieties are available only in limited quantities, early orders are encouraged.
Call for Vendors
Mercer County is accepting applications for vendors and performers for the 14th Annual Mercer County Cultural Festival & Food Truck Rally scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.
“In Mercer County, we understand that our diversity is our strength,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson. “During this 250th year of American Independence, we’re proud to bring our community together again to celebrate the people and cultures from every part of the world who have come together through every step of our history, and made Mercer County, and our nation, the vibrant and incredible place that we know today.”
The festival features live music, traditional dance performances, food trucks, art demonstrations, heritage crafters, and family activities. Applications are open for craft vendors selling culture- or heritage-related goods, food vendors, and nonprofit organizations wishing to share information about their programs. Because of the festival’s growing popularity, participation will be limited.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, April 3. For details visit forms.office.com/g/HHz7JUVrre.
