As the new school year approaches, HomeFront is thrilled to announce its annual Back-to-School Drive, which aims to provide children affected by poverty with school supplies and support for a successful start to the academic year.

The Back-to-School Drive, now in its 30th year, will run through Friday, August 18. This initiative is a testament to HomeFront’s commitment to empowering the next generation to thrive in their educational journey.

“With the academic year just around the corner, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to excel in their studies,” said Meghan Cubano, HomeFront’s Director of Development and Community Engagement. “Our Back-to-School Drive aims to alleviate the financial burden on families who struggle to afford essential school supplies, clothing, and shoes ensuring that students can fully focus on their education without any worries.”

The Back-to-School Drive invites individuals, businesses, and community partners to participate in this effort by donating school essentials such as backpacks, school supplies, clothing, uniforms, socks, underwear, and shoes. Monetary contributions and gift cards to stores like Old Navy and Walmart are also welcomed.

“We know that education is a key to success for families clawing their way out of poverty,” said Sarah Steward, HomeFront’s Chief Executive Officer. “With the community’s support, we will make sure that every child has the basics to ensure a strong start to another important year in school.”

Last year’s drive was a resounding success, enabling HomeFront to support over 1,350 deserving local students. This year, the organization has set an ambitious goal to impact even more lives and foster a sense of enthusiasm for learning among the children.

Join HomeFront in making a significant impact on the lives of underprivileged students by participating in the Annual Back-to-School Drive. Together, we can equip the youth with the tools they need to succeed and foster a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
