Watershed Institute Names Director of Advancement

The Watershed Institute in Pennington has appointed Margaret L. Kelly as the organization’s new senior director of advancement, effective May 1. Kelly brings nearly two decades of experience in fundraising, donor relations, strategic planning, marketing, and leadership across both independent schools and nonprofit organizations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Maggie to The Watershed Institute,” said Jim Waltman, the executive director of the nonprofit committed to keep New Jersey’s water clean, safe, and healthy. “Her deep expertise in development and her passion for mission-driven work make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team. Her proven track record of cultivating major gifts, launching successful campaigns, and building enduring donor relationships will be invaluable as we expand our impact in environmental protection, education, and advocacy.”

Most recently, Kelly served as director of institutional advancement at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, where she led fundraising, communications, and marketing initiatives during a period of institutional renewal. Her career has also included senior leadership roles at Notre Dame High School, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Trenton, and The Pennington School.

Kelly holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from George Mason University and lives in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
