In the time it takes to open an E-mail and click on an unfamiliar link, your computer can become infected by a virus that can be time-consuming and costly to remove. Those worried about how to keep their computers safe from spyware, malware, and viruses can put their minds at ease and learn the ins and outs of different anti-virus softwares at an upcoming computer safety lecture.
Robin Kessler of R&D Internet Associates presents “Learn the Tools to Keep Your Computer Safe” on Tuesday, August 6, at 2 p.m. at the Computer Learning Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing. Topics Kessler will discuss include using Facebook and the Internet safely, choosing an anti-virus program, and backing up documents. “As a teacher and frequent lecturer on how to use a computer, particularly among people 48 and older, I try to eliminate my students’ fear of the unknown,” Kessler says.
She will also teach attendees how to make Windows 8 more user-friendly. Attendees can enter raffles to win a copy of Microsoft Office 2013, a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware Pro software, and the Second Copy backup program.
