Team Campus Breaks Ground In Bordentown

Former NFL receiver Kevin Johnson opened KJohnson Enterprises in Hamilton last year to help found a longtime dream of opening a health club (see U.S. 1, February 3, 2010). On January 25, Johnson broke ground on the project, which will feature a new outpatient treatment center for Trenton’s St. Francis Medical Center.

The new facility marks an expansion effort by St. Francis, which has seen business fall off in recent years and faces stiff competition from two major new hospital projects set to be open by the end of next year — Capital Health System’s 540,000-square-foot hospital in Hopewell and Princeton Healthcare’s 630,000-square-foot project at Route 1 and Plaindsboro Road.

According to Johnson, Team Campus is considering hosting ambulatory surgery, radiation oncology, renal dialysis, wound care and hyperbaric treatment, cardiac diagnostics, urgent care, imaging, and physician offices.
