The state’s only academic technology conference, hosted by Newark-based NJEdge, will take place from Wednesday to Friday, November 19 to 21, at the Crowne Plaza Princeton, starting at 1 p.m. Tickets are from $555 for all three days and day tickets start at $290. The conference addresses learning and teaching innovations; social media; emerging technologies; cloud computing; assessment; administrative and network security;’ and mobile technologies, among other topics, and features a wide array of speakers:

Daniel Russell’s official title is “Uber Tech Lead for Search Quality and User Happiness” for Google. He has a doctorate in computer science specializing in artificial intelligence, though his work focuses on the human kind of intelligence. As an instructor in massive open online courses (MOOCs) he has taught more than 500,000 people.

Siva Vaidhyanathan is the chair of the department of media studies at the University of Virginia and a professor at the UVA School of Law. He is the author of the book “The Googlization of Everything and Why We Should Worry,” about the benefits and downsides of Google’s immense power.

Michele Knobel, professor of education at Montclair State, will speak on the “new literacies” of the age of digital technology.

Russ Fordyce, managing director of marketing communications for New York-based Broadview Networks, will speak on five technologies transforming campuses, and how organizations can prepare for them.
