The College of New Jersey will host the 38th annual Trenton Computer Festival (TCF) and IT Professionals Conference on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16.
This year’s keynote speaker at the TCF will be Frank O’Brien, a solar system ambassador for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and volunteer at the Infoage Science/History Learning Center in Camp Evans. His topic supporting this year’s focus on robotics is “Roving Robots on Mars: The Journey of Curiosity,” at 2:35 p.m. in the college’s physics building.
In addition to some 50 other talks and workshops, the TCF also features a flea market and vendor fair. The doors open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, for registration and the indoor flea market and exhibits. Admission to the festival is $10, with children under 12 admitted for free.
Meanwhile, the annual IT Professionals Conference takes place on Friday, March 15, at 8:30 a.m. Cost: $150. The conference is co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society Chapter of Princeton and the Princeton Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery. Talks at the conference are separated into three categories: Infrastructure, Software Development; and Technology/Professional Development/Management.
Saturday’s computer festival features numerous presentations and workshops, which are included in the price of admission. All are held in Armstrong Hall unless otherwise noted. Topics include computer programming, computer hardware, mobile devices and apps, electronics, and computer applications and operating systems. For the full list of seminars go to www.tcf-nj.org.
