Retirement planning is important for everyone, but perhaps more so for business owners, who often have to plan for their own retirements as well as those of their employees.

The Wiegner Group of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, based at 7 Roszel Road, will host a retirement seminar for business owners on Thursday, January 15, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency at 102 Carnegie Center. For more information or to register, E-Mail brian.moriarty@ml.com.

The free seminar will discuss plan designs that allow businesses to reward select groups of employees, and to maximize plan benefits while minimizing costs.

The Wiegner Group is headed by Jean M. Wiegner, who has been involved in the financial services industry for more than 30 years. She has served on the board of Planned Assistance Network of New Jersey, which provides future planning and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities, and serves on the Governor’s Council on the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities. She is a member of the professional advisor recognition society of Princeton Area Community Foundation.

Another member of the group, Brian Moriarty, has been in the financial services industry since 2002 and has the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation. A graduate of Richard Stockton College with a degree in economics, he serves on the board of United Way Central New Jersey and maintains a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer license.
