New Jersey’s medical marijuana industry may soon be expanding, and legalization of adult use of marijuana is also under consideration. The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) will host a conference to address the business consequences of these possible changes Wednesday, January 23, from 8:30 to 11:40 a.m. at the National Conference Center, East Windsor. $95, $70 for members. Register at www.njbia.org, or 609-393-7707, ext. 9481.

The agenda includes sessions on what will be needed to operate a cannabis business in New Jersey, and what potential workplace issues may arise for employers as a result of the legalization of cannabis use. Speakers include Jeff Brown, assistant commissioner of the NJ Department of Health, and Bill Caruso, a partner at Archer Law, who will discuss the history of the state’s medical marijuana program and the plans for future policies regarding marijuana.

Panelists include Justin Zaremba, editor in chief, NJ Cannabis Insider, and lawyers Corinne Burzichelli DeBerry, Fox Rothschild, Leo J. Hurley Jr., Connell Foley, Laura Link, Archer Law, and Jason J. Redd, director in the government and regulatory affairs departments at Gibbons law firm.
