On the Move: Advaxis Names New CEO

Advaxis, a biotech company focused on immunotherapy, has appointed Kenneth A. Berlin to be CEO, replacing interim CEO Anthony Lombardo. Former CEO Daniel J. O’Connor resigned in July, 2017.

Advaxis also reshuffled other top posts, appointing Andres Guiterrez executive vice president and chief medical officer. CFO Sara Bonstein will leave the company.

Before joining Advaxis, Berlin worked for Rosetta Genomics, where he has been CEO since 2009. He also held management positions at Johnson & Johnson and a subsidiary, Veridex LLC. He is a graduate of Princeton University and UCLA Law School.

Gutierrez, whose doctorate is from the National University of Mexico, was previously chief medical officer at Oncolytics Biotech and worked for SELLAS Life Sciences Group, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and other companies.

Deaths

Donald F. Barringer Jr., 85, on March 30. He was a research chemist for American Home Products (formerly American Cyanamid).

Mary Margaret Tierney, on April 19. She worked in the research division of Johnson & Johnson.

Sandra Helen Robbins, 73, on April 16. She owned and operated Ambest Surgical Supply Company in Ewing from 1975 until her retirement in 2015.
