Rap.ID Inc., a German company, has opened a lab on Deer Park Drive where it will analyze pharmaceutical products for small particle contamination. Two people work at the lab, which opened in August, and they are still setting up in preparation for taking customers.

The company specializes in using particle detectors to identify contaminants that have affected parenteral products such as needles or injectors. Small particles can be lethal if they enter the human body. If pharmaceutical companies find such contamination through visual inspection, the company can send it to Rap.ID who can analyze it and find out what it is.

Learning Express, the Princeton Shopping Center toy store that attracted many Princeton parents intent on giving their kids presents that were more stimulating than guns and Barbie dolls, has closed. The specialty toy franchise location had been open for 14 years, and owner John Sherman had been hoping to sell it.

Sherman told U.S. 1 in a December 12, 2012, article that a remodeling project in the shopping center, a bookkeeper who stole money from the store, and the recession all contributed to his decision to sell. In July he said that the December article, despite being accurate, had given people the impression he was going to close the store, and that therefore his business fell even further.

Sherman said he got a job at Toy Kingdom in Flemington after the store closed last summer.
