Setting about on the nonprofit path and unsure about how to progress? Make sure to learn the ins and outs of the process with SCORE Princeton mentor Ray Lee, who will lead a free, live webinar on the subject on Tuesday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m.
“How to Start a Non Profit — Statewide” covers the operational essentials of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, such as what to consider before setting out or stepping up to the role, as well as more nuanced topics like which standing committees are standard.
To register online, visit the SCORE Princeton page for the event at score.org/princeton/event/how-start-a-non-profit-statewide.
Lee is active at both the Princeton and Northern Nevada SCORE chapters, having more than 10 years of experience mentoring businesses in the for-profit sector, where he worked in finance, and the nonprofit sector, where he held leadership or board positions chairing various committees.
According to his SCORE biography, Lee began as a Princeton affiliate before moving to Nevada, but he now returns to New Jersey on a regular basis following the birth of his first grandchild, taking the opportunity to lend his expertise to the Princeton chapter yet again.
Lee’s LinkedIn profile mentions that his previous roles included time as an executive and founding board member of the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum in Reno, a hands-on science and technology learning institution where he was involved both pre- and post-startup.
He has also been active on the member advisory board of the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, a stewardship group, and with the Sierra Canyon Homeowners Association, an adult community where he was a board member and treasurer.
