The Quakerbridge Road-based New Jersey Center for Nonprofits and the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey have announced the launch of a special capacity grants program aimed at supporting small New Jersey nonprofit organizations that focus on health.

The Horizon Healthy Communities Grant Program will support community-driven initiatives to improve health, promote wellness, and enhance New Jerseyans’ quality of life.

The program is in recognition of the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey’s 20th anniversary. Since its inception in 2004, the foundation has been committed to supporting organizations that make New Jersey healthier and has invested more than $74 million in grants to hundreds of organizations throughout New Jersey.

The Horizon Healthy Communities Grant Program was first announced at the 2023 NJ Nonprofits Conference in Somerset on December 6. The special $100,000 grant program is designed specifically to support small, start- up, and/or newly established nonprofits (annual revenue less than $250,000) that have a health focus, and are not a prior grantee of the foundation. Grants will be awarded for general operations, capacity building, and/or program support.

Applications are currently open and will close March 1, 2024.
