GS1 US, a nonprofit information standards organization that standardizes bar codes, has moved from Princeton Pike Corporate Center in Lawrenceville, to a new purpose-built office in the Princeton South Corporate Center at 300 Charles Ewing Boulevard in Ewing. GS1 US will continue to be co-located with U.S. subsidiaries of GS1 and 1Worldsync, a content management software provider. The group’s headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium.

GS1 US worked with The Opus Group and Founders Properties to develop the new two-story building, which features open architecture, more conference and meeting rooms, a large meeting space to accommodate educational workshops often held on-premises, and a sound-proof room for higher quality webinar broadcasts.

“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for GS1 US,” said Bob Carpenter, president and CEO. “Our transition to a more collaborative workspace will position GS1 US to better serve the dynamic needs of our customers.”

Best known as the administrator of the U.P.C. barcode since 1974, of which 6 billion are scanned every day. GS1 US also collaborates with its 1.5 million member companies on other supply chain-related data products.
