Deadlines are looming for nonprofits seeking grants from the Princeton Area Community Foundation’s Community Impact Grants program and from the Princeton Regional Chamber’s Community Development Fund. Nonprofits that meet eligibility requirements may apply for both grants.
Community Impact Grants are for organizations whose initiatives transform the lives of low-income individuals, families, and communities. Guidelines are available at www.pacf.org — the submission deadline is Monday, September 11.
Before applying, applicants must attend a grant information sessions. Register on the events page of www.pacf.org.
Applications are also being accepted for grants from the Chamber of Commerce’s Community Development Fund for nonprofit organizations. A total of $30,000 in grants will be awarded in 2017. Organizations may apply for a grant up to $10,000. The submission deadline is Friday, September 15. Information is available at the Community Foundation website, www.pacf.org.
According to a statement on the website, Community Impact grants aim to advance five values:
Generosity. We share more than money. We share our knowledge of the community, its needs, and the nonprofit organizations that provide vital services.
Fairness. We perform the work of our organization justly, openly, honestly, and striving for social justice. We manage potential conflicts of interest or the appearance of conflicts carefully so that each applicant is judged on the merits of the proposal.
Creativity. We encourage fresh thinking and new approaches, provided that there is evidence to support the approach and the likelihood of success.
Courage. We aspire to do the right thing for our organization and for our community, even when a decision may not be popular or universally understood.
Sustainability. Our organization will remain enduringly relevant to our communities. A key part of remaining relevant is to have a significant impact on our communities through the grants we make.
