College may be expensive, but for resourceful students and families there are numerous opportunities to fund their educations.

The Central New Jersey Rotary Clubs are co-hosting a combination college fair and admissions/financial aid primer event for students and their families about the numerous ways to fund a college education. The free event will take place Saturday, January 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the College of New Jersey’s Brower Student Center. For more information, visit community.tcnj.edu/2019RotaryCollegePossibilitiesEvent.

The event will feature presenters giving talks on test preparation, admissions, and financial aid for higher learning. At the same time, there will be a college fair featuring TCNJ, Rider, Stockton, Mercer County Community College, Mercer Vocational Tech, Cabrini College, Ramapo, Rosemont, and others, along with military recruiters.

The presenters include Don Betterton, a former director of financial aid at Princeton University as well as Andre Maglione of New Jersey’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. There will be information on local scholarships available — including Rotary college scholarships, ETS Scholarships, Janssen Scholarships and others. The Boys & Girls Clubs and the United Way will have resources to assist with the application process for college and/or financial aid.
