Learning is not just for the young, and the Evergreen Forum proves it. The Princeton Senior Resource Center began the forum, a senior education program, back in 2001 with just 40 participants. Today nearly 500 seniors take classes from volunteer instructors in 26 courses on acting, Islam, Shakespeare, bioethics, art, history, science, and other topics.
The forum is now accepting registration for fall courses. A lottery for oversubscribed classes will take place Monday, August 29. For more information, visit www.theevergreenforum.org or call 609-924-7108. Courses are $75 for full six to eight-week classes and $50 for four to five-week mini-courses. Financial assistance is available.
The organization is a member of the Roads Scholar Institute Network, and is meant to provide daytime study and discussion for adults. The course instructors are usually teachers and other professionals who are subject experts. Most classes take place in the Suzanne Patterson building on Stockton Street or Monument Hall on Monument Drive in Princeton. Other classes are held at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church on Route 206.
