Carl R. Pope, 87, on August 16. He worked at Princeton University, Educational Testing Service, the Institute for Advanced Study, and retired as a community development officer from CoreStates Bank.

Louis E. Kroschwitz, 97, on June 6. He spent much of his career working for the Trenton Times and Princeton University Press.

Robert Dalton Smart, 83, on August 4. He worked for 20 years at Princeton University, working first at the Plasma Physics Laboratory and then the main university campus. He retired in 1998 as the director of facilities.

The Rev. Thomas Harvey McNally, 84, on August 8. He served in American Baptist churches in Trenton and Holmdel. He also served in the state government, from which he retired as a manager in the budget bureau.
