In early 2015 one Bitcoin cost around $200. Today they are around $11,000, though that could change dramatically by the time you read this article. The wild swings in the price of Bitcoin and other cyptocurrencies have attracted a great deal of attention and prompted arguments about whether crypto is the future of money or digital beanie babies doomed to fade into obscurity after a flash in the pan.
To answer some of these questions, the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation is hosting its second Einstein Breakfast, “Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Tokens – Oh My!” on Tuesday, March 13, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Nassau Inn in Princeton. Narayanan, an assistant professor of computer science at Princeton, leads the Princeton Web Transparency and Accountability Project to uncover how companies collect and use our personal information. Narayanan also leads a research team investigating the security, anonymity, and stability of cryptocurrencies as well as novel applications of blockchains.
