Bristol-Myers Squibb recently donated $17,500 to Mercer County Community College to enhance biology instruction at the James Kerney Campus in downtown Trenton. The grant will fund new laboratory equipment there.

Employees at Capital Health have volunteered their time to spreading the word about the warning signs of stroke. The employees recently bagged groceries at a Trenton Thunder baseball game and at Marrazzo’s supermarket in Ewing.

Wachovia recently gave $15,000 to Habitat Trenton, and the bank’s employees donated 60 hours toward the building of a new home at 617 North Clinton Street in East Trenton.

Novo Nordisk Inc recently gave $300,000 in education and community health grants to the Plainsboro Free Public Library Foundation, the Township of Plainsboro, Capital Health Foundation, and Princeton Healthcare System Foundation.

The grants will be used to fund improvements to the library and community center in Plainsboro Township, the construction of two centers focusing on diabetes care at the new Capital Health Medical Center at Hopewell, and a family respite center inside the hospital surgery ward at the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

Comcast, the communications and cable giant whose New Jersey headquarters are based in Cranbury, has given $1,000 to 82 high school seniors around the state as part of the company’s annual “Leaders and Achievers” scholarship program.
