Jasna Polana Sold
Princeton’s TPC Jasna Polana Golf Club has been sold, the real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield announced last month. The 222-acre property on Province Line Road includes an 18-hole golf course and clubhouse.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Matt Davis, Andy Merin, Gary Gabriel, David Bernhaut, Ryan Dowd and Jean-Pierre Hohl represented the seller, the Piasecka Johnson Estate, and procured the buyer, Concert Golf Partners.
Concert Golf Partners is a golf course management company based outside of Orlando, Florida. Jasna Polana is the 34th course in its portfolio, which features prestigious facilities throughout the country including The Club at Pasadera in Monterey, California; The Club at Longview in Charlotte, North Carolina; and The Club at Renaissance in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Jasna Polana property was the estate of Barbara Piesecka Johnson, the third wife of J. Seward Johnson and was designed by architect Wallace Harrison in the 1970s. The 46,000-square-foot mansion was transformed into a clubhouse when the property was converted to a golf club in the late 1990s. Gary Player created the golf course, and Jasna Polana — which translates to “bright meadow” in Piasecka Johnson’s native Polish — opened as a private golf club in 1998.
Other amenities at the private facility include dining areas, a wine cellar, locker rooms, and an expansive bedroom suite. The property also has two private lodges with 16 total bedrooms, a tennis court, gardens, and practice areas including a putting green and driving range.
“With its rich history and status as a community staple in Princeton, the Jasna Polana Golf Club garnered significant interest, an exceptional 20 offers, despite current capital market conditions,” Merin said.
“Jasna Polana boasts an immense history, from its ties to the Piasecka Johnson family to its role in professional golf as a past host of the PGA Tour Champions and the classic Wonderful World of Golf match between Tom Watson and Hal Sutton,” Jordan Peace, senior vice president of corporate development at Concert Golf, said. “We are extremely selective about the clubs we add to our portfolio, and we are honored to be the new stewards of this world-class club. Our mission is to preserve and enhance great private clubs, while honoring their culture and traditions in new and exciting ways.”
