The Mercer County and Princeton chambers of commerce have announced organizational changes.
Michele Siekerka, CEO of the Mercer County Regional Chamber, will leave that post on July 6 to take a newly created position at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Siekerka, a Robbinsville resident who has led the Mercer Chamber for more than six years, will become the first assistant commissioner for economic growth and green initiatives.
Siekerka has pointed to her work with the chamber’s Economic Development Foundation and a fellowship she received for regional sustainable development as relevant experiences.
The Princeton Regional Chamber has formed an alliance with the Metropolitan Trenton African American Chamber of Commerce (MTAACC). According to a Princeton Chamber statement, the chambers will combine “their expertise to create a strong and vibrant business support network along the Route 1 corridor.” Additionally, PRCC Chairman J. Robert Hillier and MTAACC Chairman Herb Ames will lead a committee focused on the “expanding needs of multi-cultural business throughout the region,” the statement says. The alliance was scheduled to be announced at a joint press conference at Mountain View Golf Course this Wednesday, June 16.
