Kevin Sbraga, executive chef of Rat’s Restaurant at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, who was featured in our May 5 cover story “New Chefs on the Block,” has made the final elimination (from 17 starting chefs) to become one of the three finalists of the Bravo Network’s “Top Chef D.C.” New daddy Sbraga, whose son, Kevin Angelo, was born last month (he and his wife, Jesmary, also have a five-year-old daughter Jenae Marie), has already filmed the finale — in Singapore — but the results won’t be revealed until the show airs on Wednesday, September 15, at 10 p.m.

If Sbraga wins, he’ll be $125,000 richer, which will certainly help towards his next venture — his own restaurant. Sunday, September 26, is Sbraga’s last day of his one-year tenure at Rat’s — the date of Grounds For Sculpture’s annual fundraising event, the Epicurean Palette.
