The January 8 Second Sunday Poetry Reading at Princeton Makes Artist Cooperative in the Princeton Shopping Center features Barbara Elovic and Michael T. Young.
Elovic, in addition to launching her 2022 poetry collection, “How She Came Here,” has published poems in more than 100 journals, including Poetry, Sonora Review, and Marlboro Review. Additionally, her work is included in several anthologies and the 2014 Bright Hill Press-published chapbook, “Other People’s Stories.” She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, was a founding editor of the poetry journal Heliotrope, and is a Pilates instructor. She lives in Brooklyn.
Young’s third full-length collection, “The Infinite Doctrine of Water,” was longlisted for the Julie Suk Award. He received a fellowship from the NJ State Council on the Arts. His chapbook, “Living in the Counterpoint,” received the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Award. He received honorable mention for the 2022 NJ Poets Prize. His poetry has been featured on Verse Daily and The Writer’s Almanac and has also appeared or is forthcoming in numerous journals including Hole in the Head Review, Lily Poetry Review, Pinyon, and Vox Populi. He lives in Jersey City.

The monthly poetry reading is cosponsored by the Princeton Makes artists collaborative and the Princeton-based Ragged Sky Press.
The free January 8 event will be held at 4 p.m. at Princeton Makes, located in the Princeton Shopping Center, next to Metropolis Hair Salon. The event includes an open mic limited to the first 10 readers to sign up, and COVID protocols are in effect.
