Call for Donations

The YWCA Princeton is seeking participants for its annual St. Nicholas Project.

The project, founded by Princeton resident Jill Jachera in 2000, seeks the support of area businesses and individuals to help local families during the holiday season.

Participants will receive the holiday wish list of a family or individual to fill. The gifts of new, unwrapped toys, clothes, gift cards, and food items must be dropped off Monday, December 16, at the YWCA Princeton’s Bramwell House, 59 Paul Robeson Place, Princeton.

To receive a wish list, email contact information to jill.jachera@gmail.com by Thursday, December 5. For those wanting to contribute but lacking in time to shop, a tax deductible donation can be made to the YWCA Princeton.

Help for Residents

Mercer County Connection offers programs that help local area residents in need. On Monday, December 9, the County Connection hosts a program on “Foreclosure Counseling.” The Affordable Housing Alliance will make HUD-certified counselors available to help those having trouble paying their mortgages understand their options. To schedule an appointment call 732-389-2958.

On Thursday, December 12, the Mercer County Bar Association will hold a free legal clinic. Attorneys will be on hand to provide 15-minute consultations and answer attendees’ questions on matters such as family, real estate, landlord/tenant and personal injury law, wills and estates, bankruptcy, criminal law, and municipal court.

The County Connection is located at 957 Route 33, Suite 13, in Trenton. Programs are free, but registration is required. For more information or to register call 609-890-9800.
