Opportunities: Auditions, Scholarships, Donations Sought

Audition

McCarter Theater seeks local actors to take part in the community ensemble in its annual production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The ensemble will include people of all ages, physical abilities, races, genders, and levels of experience. All are welcome, no experience or preparation required. Auditions for actors age 14 and up will be held at the following times:

Sunday, April 7, in the Berlind Rehearsal Room at McCarter Theater, 91 University Place, Princeton, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m.;

Monday, April 8, in Kendall Hall at the College of New Jersey, 2000 Pennington Road, Ewing, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.;

Friday, April 12, in the community room at Mercer County Community College’s James Kerney Campus,102 North Broad Street, Trenton, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.;

Monday, April 15, at Middlesex County Vo-Tech High School at 112 Rues Lane, East Brunswick, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Auditions for ages 5 to 13 will be held in the fall.

Scholarships

The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Mercer is offering book awards to college bound Jewish students who reside in the Princeton Mercer Bucks community. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need and students must be accepted and enrolled in a college or university for the fall semester.

The Dr. Esther Wollin Memorial Scholarship Fund offers monies from Dr. Wollin’s estate which were designated to grant a college scholarship. Eligibility is limited to Jewish female full-time students who will be, or are already attending Rutgers University and raised by their Jewish mother in a single-parent household in the Princeton Mercer Bucks Community. Eligibility is based on financial need.

South Brunswick Public Library at 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction, seeks book and media donations for upcoming friends book sales. Items should be in good condition, new, or nearly new. No magazines, encyclopedias, VHS, or audio cassette tapes. Bring your donations inside the Library to the side of the Borrower Services Desk, near World Language.
